Machine Head es una banda de groove metal(post trash), fundada en Oakland, California (Estados Unidos) en 1992.
Fue en 1992 cuando los guitarristas Robert (Robb) Flynn (ex Vio-lence), Logan Mader, el bajista Adam Duce y el batería Chris Kontos fundaron Machine Head. Poco tiene que ver el nombre del grupo con el disco del mismo nombre de Deep Purple. Machine Head desde entonces ha sido una de las bandas que más ha influenciado en la escena del metal americano. Sus melodías contundentes y sus letras llenas de fuerza y mensaje son las principales características del grupo. Con el lanzamiento de su primer disco, "Burn My Eyes" (1994), consiguieron un éxito sin precedentes debido a lo novedoso de su estilo.
